The internship broadened my knowledge in both Engineering and Business disciplines. I was able to experience the day-to-day operations of a multinational manufacturing company. I worked alongside a broad range of departments from Project Management (PM) to Packaging Design, this allowed me to understand the structure of a manufacturing company whilst also getting hands on with a larger selection of projects. I completed two main projects whilst working at HAYCO. I presented the first project to the PM team, discussing analytical projections of storage space required for the upcoming pack-to-ship mass scale production line. The line is projected to produce 88k units per week, therefore the storage projections are vital to a smooth operation. The second project focused on developing a complete catalogue of every product HAYCO had ever manufactured. The project focused on creating a unified database for multiple departments to access the same information, streamlining communication, and preventing mistakes in shipping and packaging. Other than the projects, I also gained an insight into designing smooth production lines, methods used in quality assurance labs, visited packaging suppliers, and witnessed a large array of high-volume automated machinery. 

I worked as an intern alongside professional architects on architectural design, modelling and development. I also performed R&D tasks on plots for potential structural development. I attended daily team meetings and surveyed sites alongside architects.
